A NEW CHAPTER.

My first piece of furniture was made 20 years ago. A coffee table with a built in chessboard that i made with my dad. Since then i have made hundreds of unique pieces.
I've shaped surfboards, restored classic cars and built guitars.

In 2014 I began working for local builder Trent Alexander now friend. Our first job together was a penthouse renovation on Spring st by archi firm KPDO.

As a naive kid from the outer suburbs, this opened my eyes to a world of refinement and creativity i truly did not know existed. over the next several years I had the opportunity to work on some of Melbournes great homes and buildings.

In 2016 we built the new Stokehouse restaurant in St Kilda.
Architect: Robert Simeoni Architects
Interiors: Pascale Gomes-McNabb.
I'm incredibly proud to have helped with that project.

A personal highlight was the cellar, a freestanding building inside the restaurant. custom folded copper weather boards and a zinc roof that we designed on the spot with simple string lines to visualise the shape. Inside, the ceiling is clad with timber branded wine boxes with floating hardwood shelving and huge glass panels. I reshaped a real grape vine to use as the door handle, solidified in resin and fixed with custom brass hardware. The job of a lifetime and a place i'm fortunate enough to still frequent for a glass of wine and a view of the bay.

Preceding the Stokehouse was 'Ottawa House'. A contemporary transformation of a french provincial mansion, led by builder Trent Alexander and the now world renowned architect Fiona Lynch. on this project i was joined by two of my closest friends who are also carpenters and we worked for over a year to deliver one of the greatest houses i have seen to this day. (see image below)

Most recently i have completed some work for the incredibly talented and beautiful human, Iva from IF Architecture, including her midcentury home and IF Studio in Collingwood.

(disclaimer. I am not the designer or architect of the featured images. they are jobs that i working on in a construction capacity)

I have tried my hand at many different things over the years, but the one constant has always been furniture.
My obsession is detail, craft and timeless design.

Im excited to be starting this chapter and will continue to focus on evolving as a designer, maker and business owner.

I am planing a small exhibition in Melbourne. Please join the email list so you can stay in the loop.
